All For Rum & Rum For All Australian Tour Completed!
What a crazy party the last few months have been! After releasing our new album, “All For Rum & Rum For All” Lagerstein set sail in the S.S Plunderberg around Australia with a hitchhiker by the name of RAINBOWDRAGONEYES (USA). Playing both coastal and regional shows throughout Australia on this tour, Mr RAINBOWDRAGONEYES and his gameboy were determined and excited to see some wild kangaroos as it was his first time to the land down under.
The tour started at The Triffid in Brisbane for Lagerfest. WHAT A PARTY! Nine bands playing on the day, a pig on the spit to feast on and plenty of nice, cold, beers, and rums. This resulted one helluva day ensuring it was the greatest Lagerfest to date. From here the S.S. Plunderberg continued down the East Coast through Newcastle, Sydney, Wagga Wagga, and Wollongong. Along this leg of the tour we played with some awesome bands like Requiem Of The Damned, Fenrir and Saralisse. Such talented bands. Despite the all he rural inland driving through NSW, RAINBOWDRAGONEYES was still yet to see a kangaroo.
Continuing South and onwards into Victoria the tour stopped in Melbourne, Bendigo, Geelong and Warrnambool. This leg of the tour mainly consisted of endless amounts of Jungle Juice, beer bongs, sneaky visits to Lagerfield in Crown Casino, going to sleep at 8am and good times. It is always a pleasure to play with band such as Hybrid Nightmares and our good buddies Stormtide. Both bands always put on an entertaining, theatrical live performance and this tour was no exception. Once again, despite all the driving through inland Victoria, still now kangaroos.
This was the largest Australian tour that Lagerstein has been on and it’s always great to take the Lagerstein pirate party to new places. Hobart was one of these places. The S.S. Plunderberg took to the skies as we played Hobart, Adelaide, Canberra, Dubbo, Gold Coast, and a final Brisbane show as a send of party for RAINBOWDRAGONEYES before he flew back to the USA. Beginning to think that kangaroos were an “inside joke” that all Australians like to tell foreigners, it was only until just prior to the Canberra show where Mr RAINBOWDRAGONEYES saw his first kangaroo. He said “Ahoy: and the jumped away. These remained to be the only kangaroos he saw all tour.
